We Are Hiring!

1099 Remote Licensed Therapist (DC + FL)

Therapy Cove™ is a fully virtual, trauma-informed practice serving Gen Z, Millennials, and beyond across PSYPACT states. We specialize in helping high-achieving, people-pleasing, anxious clients who carry intergenerational trauma, cultural pressure, and attachment wounds. Our work is warm, insight-oriented, culturally responsive, and deeply grounded in the belief that therapy is a place where cycle-breakers finally exhale.

We are a growing practice looking for a skilled, compassionate therapist to join us as a Staff Clinician, ready to work and grow into a full-time role with us. You will start as a 1099 contractor with an immediate start date, and as our steady referral flow fills your caseload. If you choose to, you will transition into a full-time W2 salaried position with a performance-based bonus structure. We are transparent about the milestones for that transition, and we put them in writing.

We welcome any fully licensed psychologist or a fully licensed therapist!

What You’ll Do

  • Provide individual, group, and couples therapy to adults using their insurance to cover services (primarily Gen Z and Millennials) in a fully remote setting.

  • Work with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, attachment wounds, identity exploration, cultural/family-of-origin stress, and relational challenges.

  • Utilize an integrative therapeutic approach informed by psychodynamic, IFS, somatic, relational, and trauma-responsive frameworks.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation (intakes, progress notes, treatment plans) in a timely, organized manner.

  • Collaborate with the practice owner and participate in ongoing supervision or consultation as appropriate to your license level.

  • Deliver culturally responsive, affirming care that honors clients' lived experiences, particularly those with marginalized identities.

  • Optional: Contribute ideas to community workshops, groups, social content, or wellness projects aligned with Therapy Cove’s mission.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be either:

    • A fully licensed psychologist or fully licensed therapist licensed in Washington, DC and FL or be licensure eligible.

    • Hold a Doctoral or Master’s degree in clinical or counseling psychology.

    • Active credentialing with Headway

  • At least 2 years of experience working with adults.

  • At least 2 years of experience or strong interest in trauma-informed care, including complex trauma, intergenerational trauma, and attachment-based work.

  • Experience in relational, psychodynamic, IFS, EMDR, and/or somatic therapies. Purely CBT therapists would not be a good fit with our practice.

  • Strong ability to build rapport with high-achieving, anxious, or culturally diverse clients.

  • Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

  • Comfort working independently while collaborating within a supportive team structure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with:

    • BIPOC clients, especially first-generation, immigrant, or South Asian, Hispanic, and Black communities.

    • High-functioning anxious clients who present “put together” but feel overwhelmed internally.

    • Relationship or dating patterns, attachment wounds, and people-pleasing dynamics.

  • Interest in long-term, depth-oriented therapy

Compensation & Structure

  • Start as a 1099 contractor with a competitive per-session rate of $55 per session, by license tier and an immediate start date.

  • The option to grow into a full-time position. Transition milestones are transparent and shared in writing during onboarding.

  • Therapy Cove provides steady referrals, administrative support, and an established brand presence, allowing you to focus on high-quality clinical work rather than marketing or self-promotion.

  • Bonus opportunities are available based on factors such as caseload consistency, tenure, and contribution to the practice, with transparent criteria and room for upward mobility.

  • This role includes a structured onboarding and growth pathway, with long-term opportunities for professional development and expanded responsibilities based on mutual fit and practice needs.

  • Ongoing case consultation and clinical support are available.

  • Supervision and consultation are trauma-informed and depth-oriented, grounded in psychodynamic, IFS, and somatic frameworks.

  • You choose your schedule and caseload (minimum caseload may apply depending on role).

    • Design a caseload that fits your life. Choose your preferred days, session blocks, and client volume, with the option to scale up or down as needed.

    • At Therapy Cove, we value clinical depth, mutual respect, and sustainable work. We believe therapists deserve support, autonomy, and space to do meaningful work without burnout.

  • Access to practice-sponsored trainings, internal workshops, and recommended continuing education in trauma, attachment, IFS, and somatic approaches.

  • Opportunity for partial reimbursement for external trauma-focused trainings.

Who This Role Is Perfect For

  • Clinicians who value depth, nuance, and identity-affirming work.

  • Clinicians who are relational and grounded but still love structure and skill-building.

  • Cycle-breakers who want to help cycle-breakers.

  • Someone who believes therapy is both science and soul work.

How to Apply

  • Email your CV and a cover letter about your therapeutic style, experience with trauma, and why Therapy Cove feels like the right fit to: hello@therapycove.com
