Haley Bland, LCSW

Hi, I'm Haley!

You were never just "the addict." The substances were never really the point, they were the solution to something that came long before them. The chaos you grew up in. The things that were done to you. The version of yourself you learned to become just to survive. And that part, the part underneath, is what nobody ever helped you with.

So you found something that worked. Something that turned the volume down, made the flashbacks quieter, made it easier to exist in your own body. And maybe for a while, it did. But here you are and some part of you knows that what got you through isn't going to get you where you actually want to go.

That's not weakness. That's clarity. And it's enough to start with.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the intersection of addiction and complex trauma. I understand that for a lot of people, the using and the trauma aren't two separate problems, they're the same wound showing up in different ways. You can't treat one without the other, and I won't try to.

I'll be honest with you; I didn't find this work by accident. I'm a high achiever myself, and I know what it's like to [brief personal detail]. I've navigated my own trauma, and that experience shapes how I show up for every client I work with. I know how hard it is to ask for help when you've spent your whole life just trying to survive. I know what it costs to finally say β€œI need something different.”

Over the course of my career I've worked in crisis and acute psychiatric care, residential and outpatient treatment, and case management. I've sat with people at their absolute lowest and watched them find their way to something better. I know that's possible for you too.

My approach is warm, strength-based, and built around you, not a protocol. I draw from narrative therapy, DBT, CBT, IFS, ART, and motivational interviewing, and I use them in whatever combination actually fits where you are right now. We move at your pace. We don't rip anything open before you're ready. And we build the skills to handle what comes up as we go.

The body keeps score. The nervous system remembers. We'll work with all of it.

Whether you're newly sober and terrified of what's underneath, still in the thick of it and not sure you're ready to stop, or somewhere in between; this is a space where you don't have to perform recovery. You just have to show up.

Outside the therapy room, you'll find me at the gym, in the kitchen trying a new recipe, exploring somewhere I've never been, or with family and friends recharging for the week ahead.

You've survived this long on your own. Imagine what's possible with actual support. Let’s chat!
