Dr. Jane Persaud
Hi, I'm Dr. Jane Persaud!
Do you feel like you've spent your whole life proving you belong? In your family, in your career, in spaces that weren't always designed with you in mind? Maybe you're the one who works twice as hard, asks for half as much, and somehow still feels like it's never quite enough. The anxiety hums in the background. The pressure never fully lifts. And asking for help? That's always felt like the one thing you weren't supposed to do.
I see you. And honestly? I've been there too.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, a South Asian immigrant, and a high achiever myself. I know what it's like to grow up where success was the expectation,, and struggle was handled quietly, if it was acknowledged at all. I know the particular exhaustion of striving in spaces that weren't built for you, and I know how easy it is to hit every milestone on the outside while feeling completely lost on the inside.
That lived experience shapes everything about how I work.
I specialize in supporting minorities, women of color, Jewish communities, immigrants, people pleasers, and perfectionists; people who have often had to be strong for everyone else and haven't had a space to just be human. I work with people across the lifespan, from children to adults, navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, depression, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and the kind of chronic stress that comes from carrying too much for too long.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based. I don't do one-size-fits-all therapy. Whether we're using CBT to shift unhelpful thought patterns, DBT to regulate intense emotions, ERP to break the OCD cycle, or ACT or RODBT to reconnect you with what actually matters.
I tailor everything to you. Your goals. Your pace. Your story.
Cultural humility isn't a checkbox for me, it's foundational. The way your culture, faith, family, and identity shaped how you see yourself and what you believe you deserve? That's not background noise. That's part of the work.
I completed my doctoral training at the University of Tennessee, where I specialized in cognitive behavioral interventions and developed expertise in DBT, Exposure and Response Prevention, ACT, RODBT, and Internal Family Systems. I've worked with adults, adolescents, and children navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, and major life transitions.
If you're someone who holds everything together for everyone else, this can be the one place you don't have to. You've spent long enough being strong!
